Our story began 65 years ago
In 1956, Fred and Colleen Morgan realised some older people within the Boroondara community were going without. Concerned, they rallied support from neighbours, and began cooking and delivering meals to the local community. This group evolved into Boroondara Aged Services Society, or as we are known today, BASScare. From Meals on Wheels, we extended our services to provide accommodation for older people — first at Faversham Court, followed by hostels and nursing homes in the area, residential aged care and retirement living at Hester Canterbury. Today our portfolio includes assisted living at Morgan Glen Iris, proudly named after Fred and Colleen Morgan, who helped make us who we are today.
